This version of Tabasco is all about chipotle: a jalapeño pepper ripened then smoked, very present in Tex-Mex cooking. The heat is softer than the original, but gains a nice smoky depth.
Its texture is more coating, its taste rounder, with woody notes that recall barbecue. An easy sauce to enjoy, even for those who do not love very spicy.
Our tip: brush it onto pork ribs or a grilled corn cob, or mix it with a little mayonnaise for an irresistible smoky burger sauce.
