In 1893, William and Eugene Reed founded their confectionery in Chicago with their father. Their motto, engraved in the brand's history: "The most precious ingredients in every product are the honor and integrity of its maker." A philosophy that perfectly sums up the Reed's spirit — a simple, honest candy, made with care. The brand quickly became the largest maker of butterscotch candy in the US in 1921!

Reed's manufacturing has stayed artisanal: the sugars are boiled in copper kettles, then poured and wrapped individually in their signature paper — 8 drops per roll. A technique few confectioners still practice. The brand crossed the decades, nearly disappeared, and was relaunched in 2012 by Iconic Candy Co. The original recipe is preserved. And the taste? As authentic as in 1893!
