Goldenberg's: Peanut Chews, born in 1917 for American soldiers

In 1890, David Goldenberg, a Romanian immigrant, founded the Goldenberg Candy Company. In 1917, the brand launched Peanut Chews, first designed as an energy ration bar for the US military during World War I. They then became a cult candy, especially in Philadelphia. Since 2003, the brand has belonged to Just Born, the maker of Peeps and Mike and Ike. My American Market brings you Goldenberg's Peanut Chews!

Goldenberg's Peanut Chews Original Dark Chocolate

Peanut Chews Original is the historic recipe: peanuts held together with molasses, in a dark chocolate coating. A chewy bite, with the crunch of peanuts and the intensity of dark chocolate.

The My American Market tip

Peanut Chews are easy to share: after a meal with a coffee, or slipped into a bag for a sweet break.

Goldenberg's today

Since 2003, Peanut Chews have been made by Just Born, a candy maker based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The range comes in the original dark chocolate version, the historic recipe, and a milk chocolate version.
