LaCroix: the cult flavored sparkling water from the United States — zero calories, zero sugar, zero sodium!

LaCroix (pronounced "la-KROY") is THE sparkling water that won over America. Delicately fruit-flavored sparkling waters, with no sugar, no calories and no sweetener, in pop, colorful cans. Grapefruit, coconut, passionfruit... the ultimate healthy refreshment break. So good!

LaCroix, the story of an "anti-Perrier" turned cult

LaCroix was born in February 1980 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, launched by the G. Heileman Brewing Company. Its goal? To offer a laid-back, affordable alternative to the very chic French sparkling water Perrier. Hence its "anti-Perrier" positioning: a sparkling water for everyone, anytime. The name itself comes from its local roots: "La" for the city of La Crosse, and "Croix" for the St. Croix River that flows between Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Bought by National Beverage in 1992, the brand hit a decisive turning point in the 2000s with a makeover of its cans in bright, zesty colors. Fun fact: the design that took off most with customers was the very one the executives liked least! That visual gamble, combined with a healthy recipe, made LaCroix a true American icon.

Did you know LaCroix has no sugar, calories or sodium?

That's the whole secret of its success. LaCroix is simply carbonated water and natural flavor — what the brand mysteriously calls its "essence." No sugar, no sweetener, no calories, no sodium. The brand actually stays deliberately vague about the exact makeup of its "essences," which is part of its charm. It's that healthy promise that made it the darling of a whole generation looking for alternatives to soda.

The LaCroix universe: around twenty flavors and several lines

The main line, LaCroix Core, has more than twenty flavors ranging from classic citrus to exotic fruits. The brand has also developed bolder lines like LaCroix Cúrate, with more complex flavors. At MYAM, we regularly expand our selection — here are the flavors available right now.

Citrus and classics: Lemon, Lime, Orange, Grapefruit (the big fan favorite!) and Limoncello (Italian-style lemon).

Fruity and exotic: Coconut (which brings a real beachy touch), Passionfruit (one of the most popular), Peach-Pear (soft and subtle) and Razz-Cranberry (tangy and fruity).

And the range grows regularly, so keep an eye on the shop's new arrivals!

A fan's tip: LaCroix mocktails

LaCroix is a perfect base for alcohol-free cocktails (the "mocktails," as Americans say), refreshing and suitable for everyone. For summer, make a Coconut Cooler: a can of LaCroix Coconut, 1/4 cup of coconut milk and the juice of one lime, all over ice with a few mint leaves. For the holidays, a Cran-Kringle: 1/3 cup of LaCroix Razz-Cranberry and 2 tablespoons of cranberry juice over ice, garnished with a candy cane. Invent your own mixes with the peach-pear, passionfruit or grapefruit flavors!
