Trappey's: the brand that dared to copy Tabasco since 1898 — lost the lawsuit but survived!

In 1898 in New Iberia, Louisiana, B.F. Trappey was a former McIlhenny Company employee — the Tabasco makers. He left with pepper seeds from Avery Island (according to legend) and founded B.F. Trappey and Sons. His sauce? He called it "Tabasco" too. The McIlhenny family trademarked the name in 1906 and years of legal battles ensued. In 1929, the McIlhennys definitively won the lawsuit. Trappey had to change names. But the brand survived, evolved — and today offers a unique range with flavours you won't find in competitors. My American Market imports it straight for you!

The 3 Trappey's products at MYAM

Trappey's Red Devil Cayenne Pepper Sauce — classic Louisiana hot sauce! Cayenne peppers, vinegar, salt — pure Louisiana profile. Milder than Tabasco (1,200-1,600 Scoville), with a frank, direct tangy character. Pour generously on Cajun dishes, oysters, red beans & rice, eggs.

Trappey's Indi-Pep West Indian Style Pepper Sauce — the most exotic! A Caribbean/West Indian-style sauce — tropical fruits, island peppers, gentle spices and more intense heat. Completely different profile from Louisiana sauces — fruitier, more complex, with papaya and mango notes. The discovery of the range!

Trappey's Sliced Jalapeño Peppers — jalapeño rounds in brine! Sliced jalapeño marinated in a lightly salted vinegar brine. On nachos, burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, sandwiches. Fresher and less processed than a hot sauce — the perfect condiment to add heat and texture.
