The Day's Soda story starts with a petty theft. Alfred DiGirolamo, known as "Freddy Day", was caught stealing a case of soda from a delivery truck in South Philadelphia. The driver gave him a choice: the police or help deliver for the day. Freddy chose to help — and found his calling. He founded the Day's Beverage Company in 1946. After his death in 1967, the brand went dormant for 30 years. In 1997, his sons David and Freddy Jr. revived it.
