Why do I have to spend at least 8 euros for my order to be processed ?
My American Market chose not to charge you for our handling fees (packing the order, processing payment, preparing invoices etc.). Because of the high cost of processing a single order, we have decided to set a minimum order. You can select multiple quantities of the same item or shop for other products to reach this minimum. This amount includes VAT, but not your shipping charges.
I live in Toulouse. Can I pick up my order in person ?
While our office and based in Toulouse, we do not have a store where we can receive clients under the best conditions. For this reason, we invite you to place your order on our website so that you can receive your American products as quickly as possible. We offer a variety of delivery services, the least expensive of which is Mondial Relay.
What if a product I ordered becomes out of stock ?
My American Market is constantly updating the website to let you know if certain products are temporary unavailable. However, if despite our effort, some of your ordered products are out of stock, we are committed to promptly informing you of the situation by email and we will reimburse the missing product.
Can I order chocolate products during the summer ?
As you know, chocolate and heat don't mix... We'd like to remind you that My American Market cannot be held responsible if your products are altered during shipping due to high temperatures.
I'm curious about GMOs. Do your products contain any ?
We understand your concern! For starters, American legislation and European legislation on GMOs are very different. In the United States, there is legally no distinction between an ingredient derived from conventional farming and one modified through biotechnology. For this reason, GMOs are not tracked throughout the manufacturing process. It is therefore difficult for us to guarantee their presence (or lack thereof) in the great majority of products in our selection. Moreover, having been approved by the Direction Générale de la Concurrence, de la Consommation et de la Répression des Fraudes, we have decided that if the manufacturer or analyses:
-certify that the products are "GMO-free," we will not indicate the presence of GMOs
-cannot certify that the products are "GMO-free," we will indicate that the product contains GMOs, to be on the safe side.
Just so you know, as of today, there has been no high-profile scientific study proving that GMOs have a negative effect on the environment, or human health. :-)
Do your products have expiration dates ?
All of our food products carry a "best before" date. Unlike with expiration dates, which you would find for example on meat or milk, you can consume products with best before dates well past the indicated date, with no risk to your health! With My American Market, there are no unpleasant surprises! We indicate the best before dates for all of our products directly on our website. This information corresponds to the best before dates for the products we have in stock at our warehouse when you place your order. We continue to sell products with past best before dates not only because they are safe to consume, but also as part of our fight against food waste. My American Market has long taken this issue to heart! How can I pay for my order ?
My American Market offers you 4 payment options:
- Online payment through Be2Bill/Société Générale services
- Online payment through Paypal services
- Phone payment with your credit card information
- Wire transfer
Under the 4 options, your order will be processed once the payment is received.
Is it safe to pay online for my order via the My American Market website ?
My American Market uses the latest technology available to ensure your data protection. If you wish to pay for your order on our website, the transaction will be operated through a secured system: we use an SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Protocol that encrypts the exchanged data. Therefore, no one can take advantage of the data while it is being transferred onto the network. My American Market does not have access to your banking information.
Will my personal information stay confidential ?
My American Market values your privacy. All the personal data you are sharing with My American Market will stay confidential. You can be assured that it will not be given or sold to third parties. We only ask you for the necessary information in order to process, deliver and request payment for your orders. What can I do if my package is damaged, opened or some items have been stolen ?
You are responsible for checking the package when it is being delivered to you by La Poste. Your shipment has been insured; therefore, if you notice a problem caused during the shipping (leaking, broken glass, holes in the package, etc.), you can refuse the package. It will be sent back to My American Market and we will then contact you to reprocess your order or offer a reimbursement.
What happens when there is a missing or broken item in my package ?
My American Market is proud to take special care of handling and shipping your order. If, despite our high standards, we have made a mistake in preparing your order, please contact us at contactus@MyAmericanMarket.com within seven days of delivery. Email us your name, delivery address, order number and details about the item(s) purchased (what is missing or broken), and we will be happy to help.
I have changed my mind. Can I return my purchase ?
If you’re not 100% satisfied with your order, you have the option to return your purchase. You must let us know within 14 days after receiving your products if you would like to return them; then, once you’ve contacted us, you must return your order to us within a maximum time period of 14 days. You can contact us at +33 (0)534 504 736, or write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know about your return. The reshipping fees remain at your expense.
We will accept your returned purchase if the following conditions are met:
- The products cannot be open or damaged, and must be fit for resale.
- The products should be returned in their original packaging, or in a parcel similar in size and quality. Any items damaged due to poor or inadequate packaging on the customer's behalf will not be eligible for a refund.
